What is Quark?

Germany’s Superior Answer
to Greek Yogurt!

Quark is a yummy versatile powerhouse that was invented in Bavaria, Southern Germany. It is a tasty dairy product, filling, low FODMAP and it dominates Greek yogurt in every nutritional aspect.

Here is the problem!

Unless you’ve lived in Europe or had a German grandma, you´ve probably never heard of quark.

Difficult to find in the U.S.

Quark is not easy available in U.S. supermarkets and grocery stores.

You might find it online but it is very expensive and requires refrigerated shipping.

Not Real Quark

Even if you are able to find quark in the grocery store or at a farmers market it is often not the “real” thing and does not taste like authentic German quark, plus you are missing out on many of the nutritional benefits.

Very Expensive

If you can find quark in U.S. supermarkets it is very expensive. The average price is $5 for 8 oz.

If you making quark with the “cheat” method of milk and/or buttermilk you will have a lot of waste and will miss out on the health benefits of the healthy bacteria in real quark.

Explore the Health Benefits

Quark is healthier than Greek yogurt, sour cream, and cream cheese. It is much higher in protein and lower in carbs than it´s dairy relatives and beneficial for the intestinal flora.

Quark contains protein from high-quality amino acids. 12 to 14 g protein per 3.5 oz. It is rich in folic acid, calcium, as well as potassium and phosphorus. Due to the high protein content, it makes you feel full longer. Since it also contains few calories, it is the ideal food for a weight loss. Athletes also love it, especially after a workout, they use it´s protein to build muscle.

Health Powerhouse! Packed with vitamins and minerals! High in calcium to help your bones, hair, and teeth. Vitamin A to maintain good eyesight, and vitamin B to support a strong nervous system.

Depending on the preparation quark is the perfect all-rounder for low-carb/high-fat or low-fat nutrition goals.

This is what people say about quark

Just tried quark for the first time and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Lovely thick creamy consistency without the bitterness of 0% fat Greek yogurt and foul taste of cottage cheese.

Being a vegetarian that goes to the gym on a regular basis, I eat A LOT of quark, and I love it too! 🙂

I use quark for my low calorie cheesecake recipes and it works great as cream cheese substitute.

Finally I can enjoy all the dishes with Quark/Topfen that I missed since I left Austria.

My Personal Commitment:

Our #1 goal here at All Tastes German is to provide you with all information and support
that is necessary for your culinary success. We are here for you to guarantee your satisfaction with our quark masterclass. Whatever question you might have, I will be there to help you enjoy this culinary experience to the fullest.

Do I need to buy the starter kit? Where can I buy starter cultures?

No, you don´t need to buy the starter kit. Especially not if you already have a nut milk bag, cheese cloth or a yogurt strainer at home. I will explain in the first lesson where and what kind of starter cultures you should buy.

Is this a membership & how long do I have access to the class?

The class is NOT a membership. There is only a one-time payment which allows you lifetime access to the class.

What is whey?

Whey is a byproduct of all cheese and yogurt making processes. It is a light yellow-green liquid that carries a lot of healthy benefits. Whey is often discarded, but it is a great source of protein and a supplement for health conditions. I will show you many ways how whey can be used in many recipes.

Do I need a lot of special equipment to make quark?

Absolutly not. Other than a starter culture you probably have most things already at home. You only need a cooking thermometer, a strainer, a bowl and a large pot.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes, we do! The quark masterclass is the perfect gift for any occasion such as Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s & Father´s Day, retirement and anniversaries. The gift certificate comes with a beautiful German inspired e-card, sent via email or via a beautiful letter to an address of your choice, and a personal note from you to the recipient. If you buy the masterclass including the starter kit, we will gift wrap the starter pack for you for free.

Can I eat quark if I am lactose intolerant?

If you’re lactose intolerant or suffer from any gastrointestinal issues which prevent you from ingesting dairy or irritable foods, then quark may be the ideal solution. Because quark is not a cheese nor a yoghurt, the Food Intolerance Network believes the good bacteria blend which makes up quark is less aggressive on the digestion system.
