    Spiral-cut, salted Daikon radish or beer radish (if you can find it).

    Beer Radish

    Salted and spiral cut radish is a staple in German beer gardens and the Oktoberfest. It is ususally served with a mug of beer and a fresh pretzel.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 Daikon radish
    • 1-2 tbsp. coarse salt
    • ½ tsp. coarse pepper

    Instructions
     

    • Peel the radish.
    • Use spiral cutter according to the manufacturer's instructions.
    • Place on a plate, sprinkle generously with salt and allow to rest for about 30 minutes.
    • Remove water and sprinkle radish with fresh ground pepper (optional).

    Tips

    If you don´t have a spiral cutter just cut the radish into very thin slices and salt them lightly.

    Try other radish variations with a traditionally “Brotzeit” and a mug of beer.
