German Chocolate Cake - Not a German dessert!
German chocolate cake is not a German cake, and has no relation to Germany whatsoever. The cake originated in the United States, and is a distinct type of chocolate cake with a wonderful flavor combination. The name "German" chocolate cake is simply the last name of its creator and does not reflect the cake's true origin.
